DE_Zur Eröffnung der Ausstellung THÉÂTRE ANATOMIQUE am 28.10.2021 ab 18.00 Uhr lädt die Galerie Stephanie Kelly sehr herzlich in ihre Räumlichkeiten am Neustädter Markt 9 ein.
Wie lässt sich Malerei in den Raum übersetzen? Dieser Frage wird in der aktuellen Ausstellung der Galerie Stephanie Kelly nachgegangen, indem in der Duoshow THÉÂTRE ANATOMIQUE Arbeiten und Arbeitsweisen der Künstler*innen Anne Neukamp und Raiko Sánchez situativ miteinander verzahnt werden. Ähnlich eines Anatoms seziert Raiko Sánchez nicht nur die Bildelemente in Neukamps Malerei, sondern auch die kompositorische Anlage ihrer Bildräume. Während sich die Malerei innerhalb ihrer Gattungsgeschichte tradierten Darstellungsweisen der Stofflichkeitsillusion verschrieben hat, erfährt Neukamps malerische Zeichenwelt durch die Begegnung mit Sánchez körperlichem und relationalem Zugriff auf den Galerieraum eine vielschichtige und begehbare Überführung in den Realraum und in die materielle Welt: Wie in einem Diorama staffeln sich Neukamps Malerei und Sánchez’ textile Raumelemente zu einem neuen und taktil erfahrbaren Bildkörper, in dem sowohl der physische, der malerische als auch der digitale Referenzraum einander überlappen. Der Bildraum wird zum Raum wird zum Bildraum.

EN_The Stephanie Kelly Gallery has the pleasure to cordially invite you to the opening of the exhibition THÉÂTRE ANATOMIQUE on the 28th of october from 6 p.m. at its gallery space at Neustädter Markt 9.
How can painting be translated into space? This question will be explored in the current exhibition of Galerie Stephanie Kelly, in which artistic works and methods of the artists Anne Neukamp and Raiko Sánchez are situationally interlocked in the duo show THÉÂTRE ANATOMIQUE. Similar to an anatomist, Raiko Sánchez dissects not only the pictorial elements in Neukamp’s paintings, but also the compositional arrangements of her paintings. While the genre of painting, within its history, has traditionally devoted itself to the illusion of space and materiality, Neukamp’s painterly world of signs and symbols, experiences a multi-layered and accessible transfer into the physical and material world, through its interlocking with Sanchez’s textile and relational access to the gallery space: As in a diorama, Neukamp’s painting and Sánchez’s spatial elements are staggered to form a new and tactilely experienceable pictorial space, in which the physical, the pictorial and the digital referential spaces overlap. The pictorial space becomes physical space becomes pictorial space.
