DE_Welche Bilder inspirieren eigentlich Künstler:innen?
Dieser Frage geht die französische Kuratorin, Galeristin und Künstlerin Laetitia Gorsy nach und ermutigt 65 Künstler:innen je ein Bild mit einem Titel in der Gastausstellung in Dresden zu präsentieren. In dieser Schau geht es nicht darum, Kunstwerke zu zeigen, sondern um die erregende Inspiration, den zauberhaften Vibe selbst, den ein einzelnes image auszulösen vermag. Unabhängig ihrer Bekanntheit nehmen alle Künstlerinnen und Künstler gleichwertig an dieser spielerischen Aufgabe teil. Jedes visuelle Statement erscheint ausgedruckt im einheitlichen Papierformat von A4 in schwarz-weiß. Die Präsentation unterstreicht die Loslösung vom Kunstmarkt, dessen Regeln und Konventionen hier vollkommen aufgebrochen werden. Das dadaistische Experiment wirft Fragen auf um Wertigkeit, Reproduzierbarkeit und Entscheidungsfreude zu dem Umgang mit Bildern in einer Gesellschaft, die von Bildern allzeit überschwemmt ist.

EN_What images actually inspire artists?
French curator, galerist and artist Laetitia Gorsy explores this question and encourages 65 artists to present one image each with a title in the guest exhibition in Dresden. This show is not about displaying works of art, but about the exciting inspiration, the enchanting vibe itself, that a single image is capable of triggering. Regardless of their notoriety, all artists participate equally in this playful task. Each visual statement appears printed in a uniform A4 paper format in black and white. The presentation underlines the detachment from the art market, whose rules and conventions are completely broken here. The Dadaist experiment raises questions about value, reproducibility and the willingness to make decisions about how to deal with images in a society that is constantly flooded with images.
